Flexible Hourly Home Care Visits Built Around Your Life
Professional, dependable home care by the hour — from a single morning visit to multiple daily calls. We fit around your routine, not the other way around.
About This Service
What Is Hourly Home Care?
Hourly home care — sometimes called domiciliary care or visiting care — is professional support delivered in your own home on a scheduled, visit-by-visit basis. Unlike live-in care, which involves a carer living with you, hourly care means a trained carer comes to your home for an agreed period — typically between 30 minutes and three hours — to help with whatever you need during that visit.
It is the most common form of home care in the UK and the starting point for most people who need support at home. Hourly care gives you and your family a flexible, cost-effective way to access professional support without giving up your independence or moving out of your home.
At Oice Support Services, we offer hourly care visits across Dagenham, Barking, Romford and the wider East London area. We build every schedule around your existing routines — not ours. Whether you need help once a day, twice a day, every other day or multiple times throughout the week, we will put together a visit plan that works for you and can be adjusted at any time.
How a typical hourly care visit works:
- You choose the days, times and duration of each visit
- The same trained, DBS-checked carer visits you each time wherever possible
- Your carer follows a written care plan agreed with you during your free assessment
- Every visit is documented digitally and shared with your care coordinator
- Your plan is reviewed regularly and updated when your needs change

What We Provide
What Happens During an Hourly Care Visit
Every visit is shaped by your care plan — the support your carer provides is tailored to what you need that day. Here are the most common tasks included in hourly care visits:
Washing, bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene and continence support — delivered with dignity, privacy and at a pace that suits you.
Preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks according to your preferences and dietary requirements — ensuring you eat well at every visit.
Reminders to take prescribed medication, assistance with dosette boxes and, where trained, administration of medications as agreed in the care plan.
Washing up, light cleaning, laundry, making the bed and maintaining a safe, comfortable home environment during the visit.
Accompanying you to local shops or arranging to collect shopping — ensuring you have what you need and that the visit includes something to look forward to.
Meaningful company during the visit — conversation, shared activities and social engagement to support emotional wellbeing alongside practical care.
Structured support getting up, dressed and ready for the day in the morning — and unwinding, changing and settling in the evening.
Assistance moving between rooms, getting in and out of bed or chairs, and using mobility aids — always following safe manual handling techniques.
Help preparing for medical, dental or other appointments — and accompanying you if required as part of the visit.
Checking that the home is safe, that the person is well, and flagging any concerns to the care coordinator or family member after the visit.
Visit Options
Flexible Visits to Suit Every Routine
There is no standard schedule in hourly home care — we build yours from scratch. Here are the most common visit structures we arrange, though we are happy to discuss any combination that works for you.
☀️
Once Daily Visit
A single care visit each day — most commonly in the morning to help with getting up, personal care, breakfast and medication. Ideal for people who are largely independent but benefit from consistent daily support to start the day well.
Example: Morning call, 7am–9am, Monday to Sunday.
🌅
Twice Daily Visits
Two visits per day — typically a morning call and an evening call. The morning visit covers getting up, personal care and breakfast; the evening visit covers the evening meal, medication and settling for bed. A popular choice for people who need support at both ends of the day.
Example: Morning 8am and Evening 6pm, seven days per week.
🔄
Multiple Daily Visits
Three or more visits per day for people who need more intensive support — for example, morning, lunchtime and evening calls. This level of care can often delay or prevent the need for residential care, allowing people to remain at home longer.
Example: 8am, 1pm and 7pm calls, seven days per week.
We also arrange visits on specific days only, alternate-day schedules, weekend-only calls and bespoke combinations. Tell us your routine and we will build a schedule around it.
Who We Support
Who Is Hourly Home Care Right For?
🏠
People Who Want to Stay Independent at Home
Hourly care is ideal for older adults who are largely independent but need a reliable, regular helping hand. Whether it is personal care in the morning, a meal at lunchtime or medication at bedtime, our carers provide exactly what is needed — and no more than that.
❤️
People With a Long-Term Condition or Disability
For people managing a long-term health condition, disability or reduced mobility, hourly care provides consistent, structured support that adapts as needs change over time. Our carers are experienced in supporting people with dementia, Parkinson's, stroke aftereffects, MS and many other conditions.
👨👩👦
Families Who Need Reassurance
Hourly home care gives family members the peace of mind that a trained professional is checking in on their loved one regularly — even when they cannot be there themselves. Many families arrange hourly care as a supplement to their own visits, creating a complete circle of support.
Our Process
Getting Started With Hourly Home Care
Free Home Assessment
We start with a free, no-obligation visit at home. Our care coordinator meets with you and your family to understand your daily routine, your care needs and your preferred visit times. There is no pressure — just a friendly, thorough conversation about what would help most.
Your Visit Schedule and Care Plan
We design a visit schedule and written care plan that sets out exactly what will happen during each visit, who your carer will be and when they will arrive. You have full input — the plan is built around your life, not a template.
Care Begins — Reviewed Regularly
Visits begin on the agreed schedule. We assign consistent carers wherever possible so you build a trusted routine. Your coordinator checks in with you and your family regularly, and your care plan is updated whenever your needs or schedule change.
