Home Care FAQs
How do I arrange home care for a family member?
The first step is to contact us by phone or via our online enquiry form. We will discuss your situation and arrange a free, no-obligation care assessment at home. This typically takes 45–60 minutes and helps us understand your needs fully before producing a personalised care plan.
How quickly can care start?
In many cases we can begin care within 24–48 hours of assessment. For less urgent situations, we typically start within one week. We will always be transparent about our current availability.
How much does home care cost?
Costs depend on the type of care required, the number of hours and whether care is provided during standard or unsociable hours. Contact us for a personalised quote based on your specific needs.
Is home care funded by the council or do I pay privately?
Both options are available. Local authorities can fund home care following a care needs assessment and means test. Many people fund care privately. We also accept NHS Continuing Healthcare funding for those who qualify. We are happy to advise on the options during your assessment.
Can I change my carer?
Yes. We work hard to match clients with compatible carers, but if the match is not right we will re-match promptly. Your satisfaction and comfort are our priority.
What are your DBS and safeguarding policies?
All carers are DBS-checked (Enhanced) before starting work. We have robust safeguarding policies in place and all staff receive safeguarding training. Any safeguarding concerns are escalated promptly and appropriately.
Are your carers trained?
Yes. All carers complete a structured induction programme covering personal care, moving and handling, medication, infection control, safeguarding and first aid. Ongoing training and supervision is provided throughout their employment.
What if I need care at short notice?
