What Happens During a Free Care Assessment?
A care assessment is a friendly, informal home visit from one of our experienced care coordinators. It is not a medical examination and it is not a formal procedure. It is simply a conversation — a chance for us to meet you and your family, understand what is happening and listen carefully to what would be most helpful.
During the visit, we will discuss the daily routine of the person needing care, any medical conditions or health considerations, the tasks they find most difficult, their preferences and how they like to do things, and what your family hopes care will make possible. From everything we learn, we create a written care plan that is specific, personalised and ready to put into action.
The assessment typically takes between 45 minutes and 90 minutes. There is no charge, no paperwork burden on you and no commitment to proceed with care afterwards.

Within 24 to 48 hours of your home visit, we provide a written care plan that sets out our recommendations — the type of care, the suggested schedule, the likely costs and any other relevant information. You can review this at your own pace with your family.

There is no time pressure. You can ask us questions, request adjustments to the plan or simply take time to consider. Some families decide within a day; others take several weeks. Either is completely fine.

Once you are ready to proceed, we finalise the care plan, match you with the most suitable carer and arrange an introduction before care begins. We ensure you are completely comfortable before a single visit takes place.

Care is never static. We review every care plan regularly — typically every three months or sooner if circumstances change — and adjust the schedule, tasks and carer as needed throughout the care relationship.
